What is 4th Day Journey?
4th
Day Journey is a ministry of space. Space where we are free from any
intensity or busyness that may preoccupy our lives; where we can stop,
rest, and reconnect with the Holy Spirit and with one another. Filled
with the Spirit, we are free to sing our own song, speak our own language,
dance our own dance, and free also to leave to follow our own call.
Here you will find prayer, communion,
laughter, music, worship, and ministry, all in the midst of rich Christian
community. Bathed in prayer and infused with the beauty of the created
world as often as possible, 4th Day Journey events are ripe environments for deepening your love affair
with the Lord.
Each
event focuses on a particular theme, but this focus is not intended to
be an invitation to adopt a
certain lifestyle or set of beliefs. Rather, it is the gift of a chance
to awaken to your own.
Who is Invited to 4th Day Journey Events?
While
4th
Day Journey is an outgrowth of the NC Presbyterian Pilgrimage (www.ncpp.net),
but its events are ecumenical and are open to anyone seeking a deeper spiritual walk.
How
are the Retreats
structured?
The weekends are
scheduled over a long weekend - beginning sometimes on Thursday evening
and sometimes on Friday evening - and always ending on Sunday afternoon in
time for an unhurried return home. Music, prayer, communion,
and worship are integral parts of the retreat weekends. In addition, there
are usually large blocks of free and unstructured time for rest, reflection,
silence, exercise, recreation, and fellowship.
